At the following article, teacher and publicist Anatoly Shperh considers problem, which is connected with the crisis of school institution. He states an opinion that Russian school can't follow tendencies, connected with modern society transformation and can't realize its basical goals to full extent.
Nowadays, there are many organizations, which provide different educational services, so it would be hard for school to compete with them. In order to explain current situation, Shperh outlines several key problems of Russian school. Cutting in state expenditures on education became a hard stroke for the system of education. Another problem, which was outlined by Shperh, is an "authoritarian system of control and inspection", which negatively influence educational process.
Permanent control and necessity to strictly follow educational programme are the main factors, which don't let teacher to vary educational process and to add creativity there. Current educational system doesn't need bright teachers and specific relationships between teachers and students. Also, Shperh pays attention to mechanistic approach to the educational process, which predominates now at Russian school. But this approach isn't effective, because students are individualities and every student needs special approach. Shperh is sure, that the school institution could be changed, but in all cases it would exist, because student will always need a teacher. "Teacher can convert into school any place" - says Shperh. And, of course, processes of teaching and learning are strongly connected and could be found not just at school.
